Case Manager–ASTHA Project

  • Full-time Contract until December 2018 (with the possibility of extension)
  • Project Duration: April 2018 to December 2021
  • Location: Dewanganj Upazila, Sarishabari Upazila & Islampur Upazila under Jamalpur District, Bangladesh.

Sabalamby Unnayan Samity currently seeks a Case Manager for the ASTHA–Strengthening Access to Multi-sectoral Public Services for GBV Survivors in Bangladesh project. ASTHA aims to fill these gaps by contributing to two outcomes: increases access to multi-sectoral response for survivors of GBV and increased positive attitudes among community members about harmful gender norms and behaviors that perpetuate violence. In that, ASTHA is aligned with the National Women’s Development Policy (2011) and will contribute to the accomplishment of key national development priorities of gender equality and women’s empowerment as emphasized in the Seventh Five plan (2016-2020) and the National Action Plan to prevent violence against women and children (NAPVAW – 2013-2015). ASTHA will also contribute to the United Nations Development Assistant Framework (UNDAF) thematic pillars 1 and 3, as well as SDGs–3,5,10 and 16 of Agenda 2030. ASTHA will be implemented in partnership with the UNFPA and ASK, and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN).

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:                                                                       

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Referral and engagement by service providers needs to be also ensured in addition to providing basic information and psycho-social counseling services  (information and awareness; or provision of basic services)
  • Psycho-social counseling will be provided, but need to ensure a separate space to conduct counseling sessions
  • Plan and conduct outreach information and counseling session
  • Liaison with other service providers and partners at the District and Upazila level, to ensure that their activities of information, humanitarian assistance, and services are also channeled through the WFS to the extent possible.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly plan and share with the coordinator.
  • Ensure referral and engagement of other service providers.
  • Provide frequent feedback/updates to central administration;
  • Any Other tasks required by management

Qualification Requirements:

  • Masters/Graduate in any subject (Social Science preferable) with at least one-year relevant experience is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of human rights, Gender equality, Child Marriage, Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV) in normal and emergency situation
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of different government structure
  • Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and time zones.
  • Ability to communicate in the local dialect (Chittagonian Dialect).
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word and PowerPoint
  • Report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate in the local dialect (Jamalpur Dialect).
  • Job Location: Dewanganj Upazila, Sarishabari Upazila & Islampur Upazila under Jamalpur District.

Salary: BDT 30,000 (consolidated) per month.

Accounts officer–ASTHA Project

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Monthly / Quarterly/Bi-annually/Annually Donor Finance Report;
  • Prepare necessary worksheets to fill up the prescribed format of finance reports. On the basis of the above worksheets prepare the actual expenses report as per the prescribed format for onward submission to donor office;
  • Prepare Cash Call to the donor to ASK through taking inputs from Budget or designate and Projects Heads.
  • Preparing fund received entry and Adjusting Journal Entry if required;
  • Preparing or arrange to prepare budget variance analysis report;
  • Prepare necessary worksheets to fill up the prescribed audit report format, show vouchers, and necessary documents to satisfy audit queries;
  • Documented all information related to projects
  • Ensure the entries for fund accounting and intracompany transaction.
  • Prepare Shared Cost analysis for short-term Projects and ensure cost recovery operations.
  • Identify the gap between the shared cost and communicate with key contacts.
  • After closing of each month, reconciled Fund Balance
  • Keep all financial records likes Books of Accounts, preserve all documents and bill vouchers in own custody.
  • Perform any other financial analysis; if required for the business purpose.

Qualification Requirements:

  • 3-5 years working experiences in the relevant field.
  • Masters in Accounting/Finance.
  • Budget and finance report preparation experience.
  • Should have sound computer skills (MS Word, Ms. Excel & Other Finance Systems and the Internet).
  • Knowledge of Finance & Administration policies.
  • Good communication skills in Bangla and English.
  • Ability to communicate in the local dialect (Jamalpur Dialect).

Job Description/Responsibility

  • Lead the Project team and prepare monthly work plan to achieve targets.
  • Provide necessary information to higher management in decision making
  • Conduct monthly performance review meeting with all staff of the project
  • Liaison with other service providers and partners at the District, Upazila and Union level, to ensure that their activities of information, humanitarian assistance, and services are also channeled through the WFS to the extent possible.
  • Supervise all activities of project staff.
  • Maintain coordination with Government service providers, Other NGOs, ASK and UNFPA.
  • Conduct regular visit to oversee program implementation.
  • Facilitate periodic visits by DONOR and Partner and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely, complete and accurate reporting as per guideline.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance report and indent of logistics.
  • Any Other tasks required by management.
  • Other responsibilities allocated by the organization.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Masters in any subject (social science is preferable) with at least 5-year experience of leading a team in an NGO.
  • Self-directed and able to lead a team.
  • A mature outlook and strong commitment to work with NGO
  • Must be skilled in preparing the report
  • Experience of networking and mobilization of local communities
  • Strong computer, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of different government structure
  • Ability to communicate in the local dialect (Jamalpur Dialect).
  • Job Location: All union at Dewanganj Upazila, Sarishabari Upazila & Islampur Upazila under Jamalpur District.

 

Salary and benefits:
Salary: BDT 45,000 (consolidated) per month.
